What does it mean to you when you read "I am the Alpha and Omega, Begining and End" in revalations? Does it mean that everything started out with Him, and everything will end with Him? Is it saying that eventually all will come to an end, including God? I want your opinions, and if you can back them up with Greek, that'd be awesome!

God bless, and happy hunting!

Hello friend,
In the Greek language, they use figures of speech just as do we.
I might say by asking your question, are you trying to pick my brain?
We know that "pick my brain" is a figure of speech, and generally understand what it means in context.
Likewise, when Jesus says in Rev.1:8 and 22:13 that He is "Alpha and Omega"... He, in our language, said to them, I am your "A and Z". He is the First and the Last of all we or they would or could ever know that matters.
But more importantly, as it relates to Revelation, please keep in mind that anytime God repeats something, we'd do well to pay close attention to Him. In Rev.1:8 Jesus states His Eternality.
In Rev 22:13, you see the phrase 'the first and the last'.
Both words, first and last are "time" words as it relates to our understanding of time. First is "Protos" and last is "Eschatos" in the Greek. Note the difference between the two passages in Revelation, in 1:8 Jesus states His Eternality, and Diety, which are outside of time. In 22:13, He reiterates what He said in 1:8 but adds references to time which applies only to us. See also "Beginning" (Arche) and "End" (Teleios) in Greek.
Main point, His Eternal Nature never changed. But for our sake Jesus who is fully God, became fully Man and from our vantage point of time had a beginning and end.
But now, just to be clear, God had no beginning and has no end.
Any reference to "time" is for our sake since we can not fully grasp the concept of Eternity.
And yes, one day (soon I hope) time itself will come to an end as you can read elsewhere in Revelation.
Then, depending on which side of the Door you're on, God will more fully explain this mystery to us, or in Hell it won't matter.
God bless,
2 Tim. 2:7

beginning and end speaks in terms of time. God is not limited by time. when speaking of His existance He does not have a beginning or an end. He just is. from eternity past to eternity future. humans are so held up by the laws of time. its like telling a computer to stop seeing 0's and 1's. its just the way it is. but if we can see past that law for a second we can almost see what it would be like without time. no counter. moving in and out of events. being at all of the events that have ever taken place all at once. that is where He is. so i don't think this statement is refering to time or existance, but rather His supremacy. Its all about Him. From Him and through Him and to Him are all things.

Alpha and omega== Greek of course.
THE FIRST AND THE LAST! == The ALL IMPORTANT ONE!

""Is it saying that eventually all will come to an end, including God?""
Nope- not THE GOD.

Al of the predictions, goings on, all that jazz!
A few Scholars also believe that the TRINITY will once again MERGE - because all things are achieved--and become THE ONE ""YOM"" or ""I AM"" again. (( Interesting thought!))

Well I agree with most of that, everything started with Him and will end with Him, however HE will have no end

Hebrews 7:3 Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually.

God didn't say "I had a beginning, and I'm going to end." So your first assumption of that verse is correct. Yes, he is the beginning of creation, and at Judgement Day the wicked will END with him. He is eternal in all aspects. He is "from everlasting, to everlasting", the Bible says, in other various parts.

This is not referring to God Himself who has no beginning or end but to Jesus Christ. It refers to His preeminence over all things. He created all things, He has power over all things, He is first in Gods eyes over all things, He is the beginning of the kingdom of God having been the first in the Resurrection and He is last in that none will come after or replace Him.

Simple... Time itself was part of creation and just like time had a beginning, it will have an end. Since God exists outside time, He will continue to exist after time has stopped.

God is forever and will not end. The beginning and end is ours. God created Earth and Jesus will come at the final Judgement.

that he is all of it, from the start to finish, or begining to end. He can do all things, and no, I don't THINK he will end. no one know except God.
