just being nice and open around her will show her you care. try to flirt with her a little too. (the fact that she hugs you a lot is a good sign). since you guys are already friends, you can just ask her out.

Sometimes the direct approach is best, just ask. But if that seems too bold for your liking, look for the following signs. Pay attention to your conversations with the person in question.
1) Does this person show a special interest in having a conversation with you and, once started, make an effort to keep that conversation going?
2) Has this person taken a sudden interest in your life and hobbies? This is a sure sign that he or she is interested in something.

Anyways, show her your true self! Find an interesting topic you can both enjoy. Ask her to see a movie with you, hold her books (I LOVE CHIVALRY!!!!), be sweet and kind.

If she wants to spend time with you, she likes you. If you want test the situation, ask her out on a real date and let her know you like her - don't fear rejection, use it as a way to know when to move on

right so me and my bf talked on aim for like 1 year before he made a move, we wne tto different schools, how he got me was like before we got off all the time he would say good night beautiful (i understand that to him he was just being nice but to me that ment the world) and now we've been dating for 5 months and if your not only talkign to her there then i guess like just tell her shes looks beautiful not hott and then one night like grab her had or bump into it " on accident " first and just lok at her reaction
