There's probably lots of folks that can answer this better than me based on first hand experience. But I had a professor in nursing school straight from China. I'm not sure where, though. His last name was Xu. One day we were discussing nutrition and he assured us that they do indeed eat dogs where he came from!

I know eating cats is common all over Asia. But remember-to them, it's normal. They don't keep them as pets-they are a food source. Like some people in India, where the cows are sacred must think be are huge losers for eating cows.I'm not sure about the dog eating part.

True in a few materials of Asia, however my god do not take it out at the leisure people. What do you imply "They" are so barbaric? Am I barbaric? You've under no circumstances even met me. You is not going to anticipate all Asians devour puppies and cats- I certainly do not anticipate that each one black individuals dedicate crime, or that each one Jewish individuals are wealthy and grasping, and so forth. Let's say I requested " Why do PEOPLE KILL EACH OTHER IN BLACK NEIGHBORHOODS? Why are they so barbaric". I could be categorized a racist and rightly so. There are a few Asian cultures that do not devour any puppy or cat in any respect. You're no longer going to devour, say, Japanese meals considering of a train implemented by way of a couple of Chinese or Korean individuals? Does that make experience? My view at the crisis is that you simply will have to no longer racialize your argument, that you already did by way of A) grouping all Asians underneath one class, and B) suggesting that consuming Asian meals by any means helps puppy consuming. There's a WORLD of change among "a few individuals in targeted materials of Asia oftentimes devour puppy and cat" and "individuals devour cats and puppies in Asia". One is a rational announcement, the opposite is bigotry.

It is true. But sometimes, it's better not to know. You could go there, eat a really fabulous Asian cuisine and not know that you just ate a cat/dog. I said "Eeeeeeeeeew" too at first but then, yah.. you can't do anything about it. Just leave it the way it is.

I lived in Asia for 5 years and never saw such a thing. However, our housekeeper always threatened to sell the dog to the Sumatrans who lived down the street. She told me that Sumatrans eat black dogs (apparently JUST black dogs, which doesn't make much sense).

Yeah, it's sick to us, but some people think it is sick that we eat cows considering that they are sacred to India. You know what else, In South America some people eat Guinea Pigs. How about that. In P.I. people eat Bo-lute, almost hatched chicken or duck eggs pickled and they eat them, bones and all!!! Bon Appetite!

I heard that in some certain parts of Asia they do.
You really shouldn't say that its sick, because you haven't lived in their villages or experienced their culture. If I see someone eating pork, you don't see me going 'ewww! that's sick! your eating an animal that eats it own waste! eww!!'
Have some common courtesy and an open mind .
