I am thinking about taking a emt-Basic course this fall, who thinks I should do this and please tell me why?

Go for it. Even if you choose not to go into emergency services it still provides practical training and experience that you can continue to use.

It's not up to me or anyone to tell you what field to enter. What's important is whether this appeals to you and you feel you would enjoy doing that kind of work. Nothing wrong with taking a class to test the waters. You'll probably discover quickly whether this is something you would like to pursue or not.

Learn all you can about what this kind of work entails, including training,.what hours you'll be expected to work, how physically(and psychologically) demanding the work is. After you've checked all of this out, only you can decide whether this work is for you.
