My daughter just recently started drinking cow's milk (12 month old) from sippy cups, and she doesn't really drink it cold, so usually I microwave it for about 20 seconds. If she doesn't drink it all, and goes off to play, how long should I let her drink it before I dump it down the drain?

And is it smart to refrigerate milk that has been warmed (either in the microwave or just room temp)?

No don't refridgerate the warmed milk, and it can only stay out at room temp for an hour.

I wouldnt drink milk that has been sitting our more than 20 or 30 minutes or that is warm. I dont think it would be a problem to put the milk back in the refrigerator if it has only been out a short while as long as you cover it.

I dont know if this is right or not, but I let my kids drink milk that has been left out two hours. And I do refrigerate milk that has been warmed. It doesnt seem to harm hem at all, and they like it. I do know the nutritional value goes down every 30min to an hour it is left out.

dump it if it is room temp for more than one hour,

did you know that it is not recommended you give your child milk or juice in any cup with a valve? this can cause nursing bottle syndrome. I will link a pic http://doctorspiller.com/images/Pedo/nursingBottleSyndrome(large).jpg

try to give milk only at meals in a regular cup, if you need to use a sippy cup give water.

You should definitely not put already warmed milk back in the fridge. If you do it is grounds for bacteria to grow and make your child sick. As far as letting milk sit out...whatever she does not consume in a 1/2hr should be poured out and new milk should be given.

They recommend one hour from the time you combine and prepare the formulation. do not go previous that. They possibly supply a conservative huge variety, however it fairly is because no man or woman needs to take possibilities on a unwell toddler. only prepare small bottles so that you do not have a ton left over, then there's a lot less waste.

It's safe for a few hours. It's not like it's sitting out in the hot sun. Room temp. is fine for awhile. It won't go bad.
