A drunk driver kilked my aunt and uncle whom I lived with. I hated the man, wanted him to die a horrible death. When we went to trial and I met him and heard him apologize, I saw that he was sincere. It broke my heart to hear him cry. He had two children of his own. Forgiveness is hard, but I think in the end, it's better than holding all that anger in. I'm not saying that you have to be friends with him, but at least talk to him. Try to find it in your heart to give him a chance. I know it's a difficult thing to do. People who haven't experienced this are going to tell you to hate him and never forgive him. I have been there. And, while every person is different, I think that you would feel better about yourself if you at least listened to him. Being friends isn't the same as forgiving him. I have forgiven the man that killed my aunt and uncle, but I don't talk to him or anything else. The best advice I can give you is to search your heart and soul and decide what is best for you. Good luck and God Bless.

That depends on the circumstances.

Was it an honest accident? Is he sincerely sorry? If for example your uncle was on the bike, and the other guy was driving a car/truck, and your uncle turned in front him so that he couldn't avoid him, then yeah, I think I can be a friend to him still.

On the other hand, if he was drinking, or racing, or high, then I wouldn't be too friendly with him. His stupid behavior has taken the life of someone, and permanently affected the lives of the guys family. At the very least, I'd want to see if he's reformed, and has proven it by staying sober for a year or better.

It depends- Ask yourself two questions
1. Do u want to move forward in life?
2. If the shoe was on the other foot, would u?
I truly think Spiritually--U can't get closer to thee, holding a grudge against someone.
Let Go and Let God!
Be Blessed/I am!

You must at least forgive him for what he did. If it was an accidental death you might try to get to know him. At least give him the chance to apologize to you. You might be able to sit and talk with him about your uncle and let him know how important he was to you. Holding grudges against people prolongs the heartache and recovery.

I wouldn't simply because of what he did to your uncle. I couldn't imaging your family being ok with this.

It can be hard to know someone who killed your loved one. This person may be genuinely sorry for what he/she did. If you want to get to know him/her-give them a chance. Everyone deserves a second chance
