When there were people who objected to american imperalism, american support to corrupt regimes, america buying oil and selling arms to corrupt regimes, knowing they were used to supress their people, when america supported Israel unconditionally, because israelian lobbies pay a big portion of political campaigns of right wing extremists in the US, in return for favors, among which, support for Israel, no matter how many UN resolutions Israel breaks, when Saddam became a monster, after america and the rest of the west supplied him with the means to do so, when the taliban was armed and trained by the US, to help fight russia, when america imposed its values and beliefs onto others.. and when people felt america's two faced dubious role in the middle east, has done more harm than good to a lot of arab countries, and the US declared anybody who does not hail to america or at least harms america's economic and political interests, a terrorist.

Just the other side of that coin...

technically, we've been at war with terrorists since the 1979 Islamic revolution in Iran, where American Embassy workers, military personnel and students were held hostage in Tehran - the present president of Iran, Mahmoud Ahjmenidad, was one of those hostage takers. Of course, the US under Carter failed to actually react to that incident and we ignored terrorists for several years - in that time we saw incidents like, the Achille Lauro hijacking (one dead American-Jew), the TWA hijacking, PAN AM 103 explosion over Lockerbie, Scotland, the Marine barracks bombing in Beiruit, the attack on the USS Cole (1999) and other military installations.

It wasnt until 1993, when the World Trade Center was first bombed by islamofascist thugs, did we wake up to terrorism. This was followed by attacks in Dar-Es Salaam (Khobar Towers) and on allied positions in and outside the Arab world.

Do any of you remember what the crusades were all about? How about WWII, or maybe the Battle of Little Big Horn (Custer's Last Stand). Terrorism is in the eye of the beholder, just like beauty. Sorry if the truth hurts.

After the attacks on 9-11 we declared war, but it's gone on far to long, we need to bring our troops home 'cause enough blood has been shed.

sure. you will no longer be able to kill terrorism. it extremely is going to continually exist as long as there are politically pushed people who will use violence to get carry of what they desire. See: Extremist Muslims, the IRA, Timothy McVeigh, PETA, Jim Adkisson, and so on.

1979. That was when the first attack occurred, and ever since then, it's been an issue. I have an email that shows the timeline. Let me know if you'd like to see it.
