Get funky curtains, ones you will REALLY like, but that are dark enough to keep the light out!! And.... maybe get a rug next to your bed. (guy- football/basketball rug Girl: flower rug or something fun like that).

Try putting a poster of your idol/fav singer/actor/actress up in an area that it REALLY bare.

Accessories: bookshelf, decorative pictures, posters, or accessories (you could get some beaded things or a dreamcatcher to hang up on a fan or around your roon.).

Also: remember to keep it fun, add some bean bag chairs (1 or 2) next to a bookshelf with books or magazines so you can enjoy reading, for real.

A tip is: remember to keep space. You don't want your room FILLED so you can't clean or walk! So try keeping your clothes in the closet and getting a jewlery box and maybe some shelves. (Trust me, i have them. they help keep orgfanized.)

Also, you could get some wallpaper that you like, or some things to hang. If you have a phone, put it on a desk with some other things around it (especially stiky notes/ post its, so you can write things down).

As long as you like it, you can make your room VERY decorative and FUN.

Good luck. I hope you LOVE your room.

P.S. look in some stores or catalogs. Sometimes something just pops out at you and it would work GREAT or be SO COOL in your NEW ROOM/ ROOM.

You need a dark color to stabilize the room. Try using black or dark brown for your bed spread and dark brown for your curtains. If you keep your furniture white it will make the room seem more open and if you have wood or dark colored furniture it will make your room seem smaller and/or cozy. Try to throw in some other colors for your mood. Pink is a relaxing color so a very good choice for your bedroom. Try adding red near your alarm clock to help you wake up and brown or blue near your desk to help you study. If you add molding at the ceiling line it will make the white ceiling not so harsh.

I love the Shabby Chic stuff that Target sells. It is feminine and looks vintage. Most of it would look great with pink walls. Add flowers, pillows, throws, books. Look at thrift stores. you can find lots of cool things there for very little money.

I would try sheer white curtains. Depending on your bed there are some really nice pictures at IKEA to hang on your walls that are a but large but would definitely look great above you bed

turquiose curtains, tab top, all the way to the floor, over the window and closet, then some cool turquoise border around the top of the room and bright yellow bedding.

I've always loved beaded curtains, the ones where you push them aside and they make a cool noise.

Also: a cool lamp. It makes everything else awesome

GOOD LUCK!

pop into the grocery store/drug store and pick up a decorating magazine or two....thumb through them and circle anything that catches your eye.... it's a great idea to find what you like raher than going with someone else's taste.
