i have jet black hair and I'm a black female, Carmel complected, and i get complements on my hair color all the time. i think that is the one hair color that look best on any skin tone.

I know many black women that had dark brown hair who dyed it all black. It can be very pretty, as long as you use a dye kit that is a soft black color or go to a professional for the look. Also, a rinse (washes out after one wash) is a good, temporary alternative to dyeing your whole head black. It gives the appearance of black hair without the permanent effects that sometimes happen after women dye their hair (breakage, split ends, etc.) because it acts like a conditioner for the hair. So, all in all, it can be "a good look" if you choose the right shade of black (sounds funny, but true) and get it professionally done as opposed to doing it on your own.

When you color your hair black you have to consider you eye color skin tone and maintenance. The darker the hair the more contrast on your new growth. Also Black hair color is the hardest to remove if you decide later on that you want your natural color back. Of all the different shades of hair color, black is the hardest to remove, and can severely damage your hair. If done properly it can be done. Before you do a thing I would consult with a professional. Most consultations are a free service in salons. Get all the information you can before you make a change that will not be easy to change back. If you decide after that make sure you have it professionally done. Hair color can also color your skin and a professional will know how to remove without irritating your skin.

Some people look really beautiful with black hair. As long as the color matches your personality and your complexion-it should work. Don't forget to take care of it

I think its beautiful...if it's on the right type of person, for example, Asians or Latinas.
If it is to be dyed black, take into consideration skin tone, eye color, hair type, etc.

sometimes depending on your skin tone, or natural hair color it can make you look really bad. and depending on the dye it could make your hair look gray! so my advise is don't go black!
i've done it too many times i've lost count. and every time i've done it i've regretted it.. but i haven't gone black in almost 5 years!!

it depends what type of skin you have, if the person is very pale it may have to much contrast and look gothic, but if the person has fairly dark skin it looks lovely. [:
