You dispute it through the credit agency. You can do that at www.annualcreditreport.com

Accurate information can't be removed. If the account does not show as paid, you can file a dispute with the credit reporting agencies.

Be sure when you dispute it w/ the credit bureau, you put on there "do not owe" otherwise it will stay on there as paid. I work for a collection agency so I know

get dispute forms from the reporting agencies and dispute the reporting. If it truly is paid then they will show paid as agreed
