It may not actually be dandruff. If you are using a heavy styling product it could be building up on your hair and looking flaky when you apply heat or brush through after using your flat iron. Try a build up removing shampoo to get rid of the build up styling products and I bet that will solve your problem. Redken makes a product called Cleansing Cream.

i have this probelm all the time, because i swim a lot. get tea tree shampoo and conditioner by paul mitchell. it can be found at most nice hair salon's. it doesn't have the best smell (very minty, which i don't like, some people do), but it got rid of my dandruff and dry scalp in about 4 days. i use it every time i get out of the pool and my regular shampoo on the other days and it hasn't returned.

Try Demorex. Its amazing. Not exactly fragrant, and it kind of tingles, but it worked for me when nothing else would. I have really naturally curly hair, and it used to be almost down to my butt so my hair was always dry, I haven't had problems since I used it though. Just a warning, DON'T get it in your eyes! OUCH! Burns way more than regular shampoo!

Believe it or not, but Listerine works. Just pour a little on your scalp, leave for about 3-5 minutes and shampoo.

get a deep conditioner, the leave on kind and let your scalp soak in the conditioner. it can help your scalp not be so dry!
i assume you blow dry your hair too, try not straightening your hair EVERYDAY, if there is a day you can go without do it, keeping your hair that dry can make it worse. your hair and roots need natural oils.
