The simple reason why there are so many different denominations is because each interpets the bible differently. I can honestly tell you that there is no denomination that fully understands the word of God and its correct interpretations. Since God is perfect and man is sinful. Its really up to you to study the bible, the word of God, and to investigate by finding out what the different denominations are teaching, and see if they line up with the word of God. Pure religon is not about being part of a certain denomination it is about you having a personal relationship with the creator, who can instruct you how you can live a life that is pleasing to him, and rewarding for yourself. Its about entering into a convenant relationship with the creator of the universe. Its like the converant of marriage , two people become one. All that he has becomes yours and vice versa. Thats what a convenant with God means your enemies become his, those who try to harm you God stikes down vengence upon them. His resources become yours etc. But since you are asking for oppions here I'll give you mine, after much searching I like the pentacostal denomintion because they teach from the word of God and they believe God is the same yesterday today and forever and what he has done in the past for people who have walked with him, he will do for you today.

None! And I am not an atheist! I totally believe in God.But When scripture is changed to suit the flesh ,the desires of man. They also change the word of God and as younger generations come along their not taught the original scripture. One example:"There Are" vs "They are" - 7 hills, 2 verses from the book of Revelations:"Here is what the "KJ" version says"
9 And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.
10 And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.
Here is what the "Non-KJ" version says :
9"Here is the mind which has wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman sits,
10 and THEY are seven kings; five have fallen, one is, the other has not yet come; and when he comes, he must remain a little while. "

This last quote is Not correct. Though others will disagree, this other version 1) is changed to reflect what the text in the Catholic Version says and 2) to conform to Catholic Church politics of denying that this verse refers to Rome.
Look at the sets of verses very carefully. The meaning of the words is already changed - by only changing ONE word

The King James version in verse 10 reads "There" are seven kings
Ant the same verse in the Non King James version reads: "They are" so it causes one to no longer look to identify a location but rather the meaning has been changed to make a person think that the 7 mountains are the seven kings themselves.
To those who believe in historic accuracy, this is not a change with small implications.

I don't think having a denomination is important because there are so many that teach different things. The only thing I do is read the bible and try to go by what it is telling me to do. because everyone will have different beliefs no matter which denomination you are, the only way to be sure to do what is right is to read the bible and pray and ask god what is right. If you do that you won't have the stress of trying to fit in to denominations, and worry about if your doing something your church may not teach if you just go by the bible.

Now I don't believe that just because one is from a certain denomination, that every church in that denomination teaches the same thing.

I belong to an Apostolic church, from the Apostles and Prophets denomination, based on Ephesians 2:20

I believe that at least in my church we are following the truth because of the miracles that I have seen, and the fact that we follow strictly what the bible says. We do not practice many things that other Christians may simply because its not stated in the bible. and we practice others because they are.

My life has changed completely and so has my father's life, only God could have done such great things.

No denomination. I follow my heart and my Lord. I usually pick non denominational churches, though I've visited most all Christian denominations.

Before the "Catholics" there were the followers of Christ, the true church....they were mostly Jews who also believed Christ was the Messiah. Messianic Jews are truly the most blessed people on earth.

Catholics have had a long history of changing things because of the Roman Empire and various rulers who adjusted things to their liking, etc....I don't think any organized religion is that great....

The thing of it is ALL CHURCHES ON EARTH are made up of HUMANS, therefore, they will not ever be a perfect church. The True Church is the Body of Christ....read about that in the Holy Bible.

I think the best "religion" is inside of us, led by the Holy Spirit and fed by the word of God.

I am a baptist but just because I am doesn't mean that the other religions aren't christians or aren't right. Even though you go to a certain denomination you ave to figure out what you believe on your own Just because your church believes in something doesn't everyone believes in it. Every church that I have ever been in I have always found something I didn't believe or didn't like

A pious man once found himself pondering the very same question.

Just at that moment, a very bright light appeared above him and a voice thundered to him from the blinding sky saying "Ask and you shall receive an answer."

So, not wanting to miss this grand opportunity, the man asked the question; "How many Presbyterians are there in heaven?"

The voice responded "There are no Presbyterians here."

The man decided to press his luck again and asked "What about Baptists, Nazarenes, Anglicans, Catholics?"

The voice answered as before "There aren't any Baptists, Nazarenes, Anglicans or Catholics here."

He asked again; "Mormons? Jehovah's Witnesses? Quakers? Methodists? Episcopal?

Once again, the answer came back; "There are no Mormons, no JWs, no Quakers, Methodists or Episcopals."

In a panic the man blurted out "Then who IS in heaven?"

As before the voice thundered the answer from the light above; "Christians. There are none save Christians that enter here, and none else."

Acts 4:12
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

I am the denomination I was brought up in. For me it is the most true, but I wouldn't begin to put down any other church or say mine is better. It's not for everyone, but it is for me and that's what matters.
