Peanut butter and Jelly sandwich with a glass of cold milk- what a combination! It is simple, yet satisfying. It's somewhat healthy and great for people on a budget. So, my question is, Who came up with that idea?

Well, it would be nearly impossible to know who invented a particular type of sandwich.

However, the sandwich in general is attributed to the Earl of Sandwich (go figure), who was a gambler. He had the idea of putting some meat between slices of bread so that he would not have to get up from the gaming table to eat.

george wasshington carver invented peanut butter itself. he also found several hundred other uses for the little buggers from underground but the jelly addition was probably done during the depression as a means of making it easier to eat for poor children, but I'm not quite sure about that part.

No one can take credit for it. It was first mentioned in print in the 1940s and was used as military rations during WWII
