it sounds exotic...i love arabic music though...i have NO idea what they're saying but it sounds cool...i really hope to learn arabic one day....i'd love to visit the middle east and try it out there...

Initially most languages, not considered the "romance languages" such as Spanish, Italian, and French, may sound hard on our ears because we are not used to it. After many years of hearing my best friend's family speak Arabic, it sounded comfortable and familiar, but in the beginning it sounded to me like the same sounds repeated over and over, very quickly...until I learned to pick out words. By the way, she said my Spanish sounded very fast and like I was tripping on my words :)
They say "beauty is in the eye of the beholder", perhaps the saying can be applied to how one hears a language spoken, too?

There are different accents in Arabic.
Does the Arabic spoken in Saudia Arabia sound the same as someone speaking the langauge in Algeria? No

I quite enjoy the middle eastern syllables. I hear all the SH's and L's. Very pleasant to my ears. I like the music, too. All the drums and heavy beat. I could expound for hours on the wonderfulness of the food!

Im Araibian, so i really think it sounds like someone is choking and is having a very hard time breathing. harsh .but romantic when soft spoken.
