I use to have gorgeous hair down to my knees. At 16, I was tired of dealing with it... not to mention I played sports and it was always getting in my way! I found a really short cut that I loved, held my breath and went and got it cut. I find that now I have a hard time growing my hair much below shoulder length before it just starts looking ratty no matter how well I take care of it or how often I have it trimmed up.
If you're absolutely sure you want to cut your hair, make sure you find a style you absolutely love and are sure you can live with. Also, make sure you find a stylist who is competent at cutting hair, otherwise you may very well regret your decision. Finally, if I can make a last recommendation, see if your stylist donates hair to Locks of Love... it's an awesome charity that makes wigs for cancer patients.

Obviously it's your choice...I had the same choice and wish I'd known I'd never be able to grow it that long again...might have made a difference.
If you do get it cut and your hair really is that beautiful and like weave, then make sure you go to a salon you trust. If you choose a new salon, then PLEASE don't let them talk you into going shorter than you want...because your hair probably WILL end up as weave or a wig or something...there is soooooooo much money in selling human hair for wigs/extensions etc-and the longer it is, the more money the salon can make from it!
If you want really impartial advice on a new style, tell the salon you will be donating the cut hair to a wig charity or taking it with you! (I know that sounds really disgusting, and you can chuck it out as soon as you get out of the door, but you'd be amazed at what some people will sink to!)
I'm sure it will look great whatever you decide!

If it's all one length get a few layers in it to lighten the load or like others are saying, just get a bit cut off so it's not too drastic. I had long hair a long time ago and got it cut into a bob - I looked more like crystaltips when it started to grow out - you don't mention if it's totally straight, has a kink or is curly?? Mine is curly and definately doesn't do a bob or a fringe. Even getting a finge put in can make a difference.

I say, do whatever you want. I had the same thing. All my friends said no. I wanted to have it cut so I had it cut. They finally accepted how cute it was and then the entire grade got their's cut like myne!!! Do what you want. If you do get your hair cut, go to a salon that will give it to Lock's of Love, that way you will feel better too, you will know that your hair is going to make a wig that will help a child that has cancer.

Yes go for it - maybe try it in stages if you've had it long for ages. Maybe shoulder length bob to start with then add some layers and possibly go even shorter and then if you feel daring and like having less hair, take the plunge and have it all off! It will grow back one day - probably even healthier than now !

you will ahve to accept the fact, you will NEVER get hair like that again if you cut it all off, so make sure this is what you want. It will never grow back to the length you have it now. I would think about braiding it, or thinking of some cool up do's as another option.

Yeah- this is a common problem. I like long hair on girls too. -But at the same time- I can't blame them for wanting to cut it after awhile. It's hard to keep clean; alot of work, a pain to manage- AND downright hot in the summer. ... The bottom line IS; it's YOUR hair- & it's your choice how you choose to keep it. Your friends will "get over it" if you decide to get it cut.

That's cute and all but the modern look is short and sleek. If you're really partial to your hair, then cut it down to the middle of your back and get long layers. That's a cute cut and it's low maintenance if you're used to having your hair so long.
It's your hair, do with it what YOU want to do! =)

It's your hair, do what you want. However think really carefully, cos once it's gone it's gone and it will take ages to grow it that long again. Having said that though, it's your decision so go for it!

do it in stages, u might not like it short and its easier to cut more off than growing it back! u'll find a length that works for u... on the other hand, it's not really up to anybody else, u should do what u want.
