Im currently at TX and i am trying to speak in plain US english as some people dont like it ...... I read some asnwers say gay ... Whats there to be gay if you have an accent ???

It's not stupid - it's different. I happen to think it's a very nice and different sounding accent to have. It's not funny sounding (like me - I have a strong New York accent and live in San Diego, CA) I get teased alot! Anyway, I find at times it's handy because you sound different from everyone else and you stand out, people know who you are instantly from your voice - especially over the phone and this can help you in many ways - especially when you begin working!

I love listening to British people, i like the accent. Actually, my bf is Brit and i love listening to him and when I am around with the rest of his family. Bloody hell, it's truly good. How's that!

It all depends on the culture you have moved into. There are places where accents make you cool, other make you look stupid, other think you want to try and influence them......
I would stick to what I am used to.

I find the sound of the human voice music to my ears, be it a crisp British dry speech pattern or a Whiskey Southern drawl {this refers to a voice that is slightly graveled with a hint musical timber}or just your run of the mill Ebonics.The sound of a dusky whisper has to be an all time favorite of mine. I enjoy the sound of a voice.
