Terriers love to chase other animals, but as long as there is ANY dog in your yard, the local wildlife will avoid it.

Beagle. That's what my dogs are. We have the same type of yard, and we don't have rabbit, groundhog, etc problems because my dogs keep them out. Beagles are awesome!

Any type of hunting dog would do the trick.
Terriers are fast.
The problem that we have is keeping the dog out of the garden, she likes to shop in the garden. Good luck.

Nearly any of the normal sized Terriers. That is what they were originally bred for..
Lots of pages to choose a terrier from.. I wouldn't recommend the Yorkies, or other terriers that have been reduced to lap dogs, or toys.>> http://www.avdc.org/position-statements.html#Disarm

Jack Russell or Rat Terrier. Small and compact, high hunting instinct, boundless energy, easily trained.

I think any breed will do. My dogs are miniature and their barking keeps out the wildlife. One of them even killed a squirrel.
