No I haven't heard this & I don't think not having a dad influences people not to believe in god. My boyfriend's dad was killed & he believes in god & one of my boyfriend's dad left her mom & she also believes in god.

My father, was very abused by his father, and given away (passed from family member to family member). He was sold for labor in the fields, and went to WW2 at fifteen to keep from being hooked to a plow.
He grew into a loving father, and a wonderful Christian man.
My father loved me, but I believe that he felt unworthy as a son, to his heavenly father. We had many discussions before he died, how he wasn't worth being a son.
Yes, God set up the head of a household, to teach us how to accept love, discipline, and strength from a father. nurturing and love from your mother.
In Ephesians, the family is laid out in order. Because God is a God of order. It is so important for a child to know that an earthly father can love them, so they can understand love from a heavenly father.
be blessed in Christ.

I have never heard that. But is seems to me that someone without an earthly father would be elated to have a Heavenly father. Their heavenly Father would be someone they could always look up to(no pun intended) and someone they could always trust. Their earthly father having left them one way or another seems to place an opening for a replacement.

I would think that having an abusive father or stepfather would lead a person to not believe in a good heavenly father and therefore to reject that religious model.

It can --- I believe it, but on the other hand, someone who does not know their father or has a strained relationship with him, may find peace and comfort in the Heavenly Father that will not forsake you or leave you....That is my experience.

I think its the other way around. Those who didn't have a father are constantly seeking one and they find the perfect father in God and his son Jesus.

No - logic, common sense, science and reason are reasons people don't believe.

My dad was always there. and always loved me. That's why I was raised to question and learn, not accept.
