The widely held belief that you must accept the gift of forgiveness by faith is simply not found in the Bible. It is the gift of righteousness that you must accept by faith (Romans 5:17) in order to be saved. All people are forgiven but not all are saved.
It is a matter of revelation that even the unsaved are not now condemned because of the sins which Christ has borne (John 1:29; 1 John 2:2; 2 Corinthians 5:19). The present condemnation of sinners is said to be no longer due primarily to the fact of their sins, but to the fact that they will not receive the remedy God has in infinite love provided: (John 3:18-19; Mark 16:16; John 16:9; John 5:24)

Forgiveness from God comes if we repent of it. The bible says, it is appointed for man once to die, and then judgment.
There are no "second chances" after death. That is why "today is the day of salvation"....the time to repent of sin, and accept Christ, only comes before death. After death, there is a time when "every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord"...but if a person is made to do that (and does not do it willingly, while living)....that person will not enter heaven. Only if you live and repent are you forgiven.

It depends on whether your brother was saved by the Grace of God. It is too late to pray for him now. If he was saved and had accepted Jesus as Saviour, and still beat his wife, I really don't know how to answer. My advice is, talk to a Pastor, or Minister, someone who truly knows the word of God. I know the Word, but not enough to give spiritual advice to anyone.

God will forgive your brother if he requested for forgiveness. in case you do not imagine your brother changed into sorry for the flaws he did, or that he under no circumstances requested God to forgive him, keep in mind, God is the purely one which knows what changed into really in his heart. your relations can not get forgiveness on behalf of your brother, it fairly is between him and God. It appears like you all must be praying on your own peace of options. believe him and comprehend that he's God.

First God does NOT forgive sin he is the God of the law.
Jesus can forgive sin.
Let us hope that Jesus knows your brother, and his sins are forgiven him.

If he asked God for forgiveness and repented of his sins, then he would've been forgiven. But if he didn't then he isn't forgiven. But that is between him and God. You and your family just need to pray that he did.

these verses might help you answer this question.
"God forgives not That partners should be set up With Him; but He forgives Anything else, to whom He pleases; to set up Partners with Allah Is to devise a sin Most heinous indeed."
[QURAN 4:48]
"They do blaspheme who say: ‘Allah is Christ the son Of Mary.’ But said Christ: ‘O Children of Israel! Worship Allah, my Lord And your Lord’. Whoever joins other gods with Allah – Allah will forbid him the Garden, and the Fire Will be his abode. There will for the wrongdoers no one to help." [Quran 5:72]
"Say: "O my Servants who have excessively wronged their own souls, despair not of God's Mercy: for God forgives all sins for He is Most Forgiving, Most Merciful.
Turn to your Lord (for forgiveness) and bow to His (Will), before the Penalty comes on you: after that you shall not be helped." ( Quran 39:53-54.)
"But ask forgiveness of your Lord and turn unto Him (in repentance): for my Lord is indeed Full of mercy and loving-kindness." (Quran 11:90)
