Me too! I was at dentist last week (my 6 month check-up) and had to have a tiny filling. £42.40!!!!!!! Wot the hell is that all about?
I know I havent had any treatments for a couple of years and usually only paid about £10 for check-up and polish.
Asked about two crowns and was given price of £200 !!

inner most Dentists can and could fee what they prefer compared to NHS Dentists who've to artwork less than 3 fee bands and the maximum you would pay less than the NHS is £198 for a band 3 procedure treatment which conceal Crowns/Bridges/Dentures and Veneers, this fee will also comprise the initial fee! up until eventually 2006 Nhs Dentists worked less than the old gadget/settlement which meant that if a sufferers procedure treatment exceeded the quantity set by using the nhs, then the dentist had to deliver off for approval to verify that the treatment to be done. this gadget changed into scraped on April 1st 2006 even as the hot contracts were presented alongside with the three fee bands! Dentistry isn't low-cost or perhaps the fairly effortless of fabrics might want to be severe priced, alongside with all the different overheads which incorporates Dental Nurses without whom the dentist can not artwork, reception crew, the up keep and upkeep of kit the record is infinite and on the end of the day those men and Gals are operating a employer no longer a charity!

Well, I reckon that with the amount of new treatments and drugs, more highly qualified practitioners and more complicated operations available, not just in dental but the whole NHS, we should expect to pay a small amount toward each treatment.

Yes they are for those of us that have to pay, but what else can you expect from this government. Someone has to pay for the freeloaders haven't they.
