While a cold drink is refreshing, a hot drink will have a bigger impact. It will warm you from the inside, making the outside air feel cooler and you may sweat which again, will cool you down. It is an old trick of native Americans I believe.

Cool or cold drinks. The lower temperature helps reduce your temperature.
Avoid caffeine and alcohol.
A hot drink might induce sweating, but then you have to also get rid of the heat from the drink itself.

Uh, how about water? Sodas, tea, and coffee can all make you dehydrated. So stick to things like don't, like gatorade if you must have a flavored drink.

hot is better for your body, it get you to sweat which cools it down much faster then a cold drink.

I would drink the coldest drink available to me... and right now, it is really REALLY HOT HERE, so anything cold is good to me!
