Actually there are many different types of Buddhism.
Some see it as a philosophy others see it as a religion.
So it all depends on the Buddhist and how he practices.

IF a buddist becomes a Christain, he then is a Christian and no longer a buddist.
Judges 10:13 Yet ye have forsaken me, and served other gods: wherefore I will deliver you no more.
Exodus 20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

Exodus 23:13 And in all things that I have said unto you be circumspect: and make no mention of the name of other gods, neither let it be heard out of thy mouth.

The answer is, you can still be a Buddhist if you become a Christian, but if you become a Christian you can't become a Buddhist. Does that make sense?

In other words, the Buddhist don't care about what other beliefs you have, because more than a religion, it is a philosophy.

On the other hand, Christianity (as well as other monotheistic religions) requires you to have your religion their way, or you're going to hell, basically.

they can. there is fairly no longer a lot conflict between both theory platforms. even as the first Christian missionaries got here into parts of the international the position Buddhism changed into huge-spread, the Buddhists of route loved the message and loved Jesus, and reported as themselves Christian Buddhists. Jesus is likewise considered a bodhisattva in Buddhism, and also you'd be not easy-pressed to stumble on a Buddhist who would not appreciate him a great deal.

No, they can't. It's one or the other as far as religions are concerned. If the person wanted to pick and choose bits from each one and live their life by this, their own religion, that would be fine, but how would that person ever have true faith in either?

A Christian follows the teachings of Christ, a Buddhist those of Buddha, any attempt to combine them corrupts the true teachings of Christ.

No because the teaching of Buddism don't go along with Christian beliefs. There is no reincarnation. You die only once and go to either heaven or hell. None of this Nirvana mess.

No. Because Buddhists feel that they are one with "God" as Christ did. Christians feel that they are not one with it and will call you a blashphemer for claiming that you are.

Kind of like how the Jews called Jesus a blasphemer for claiming he was.

Strange isn't it.
