Everyone thinks their god is the only true one. Allah, Brahman, Vishnu, Atman, YHWH, Krishna, etc. How do you say, "THIS god is the good one!"

In reality there is only ONE. He may have different names but he is one. Muslims call him Allah, Christians call him God Almighty and so on. Hindus perhaps believe in many gods but I don't believe in that. I believe in only THE ONE. He is self sufficient and does'nt need anyone. He does'nt have any parents or children or siblings or relatives etc. He is unique and alone. And he is not human. Perhaps he is some sort of energy but here our knowledge and intellect fails. So its better not to think about those things.
And whether we believe in him or not won't change a thing, as far as he is concerned. Because what he wants is done. Everybody will one day believe him. But it is better for us humans to believe him now when belief can make a difference.

YAHWEH is the one true God. Look at the trees, they take the shape of Y's. Listen to your breath, you breathe the name YAHWEH inhale YAH exhale WEH. If you look at your hands you will find a Y an H and a W somewhere. Mankinds veins & arteries take the shape of Y's, H's and W's. YHWH is the name that was revealed to Moses at MT. Sinai and like you he had the same question because he was going back down to Egypt and they had many Gods and each God had a name so he asked, which one are you? Exodus 3:13. When the Bible was translated from Latin to English under King James, the names were removed and the title of Lord was replaced for YAHWEH (King James was the most high LORD of England) and God for Elohim (King James worshiped himself as a God). Remember, Lord and God are both titles and not names. Jesus Christ for Yahshua the Messiah.

Well, Christianity is the only religion whose founder is not still in the grave. If Jesus came back from the dead, then he must know something that no one else does.

I don't know if this answers your question or not, but one of the main reasons that I believe in Christianity is that the people who knew Jesus were willing to be tortured to death rather than change their story that they saw Jesus return from the dead.

If the apostles were lying about seeing the resurrected Christ, then why didn't they take back their story when they were individually being tortured to death? Every one of the apostles (Except John, who died a natural death in exile on Patmos), were killed for their faith. Wouldn't a liar recant this story to save his own life?

What did the apostles have to gain by making it all up? What good does fame or power do for a dead person?

I accept the apostles' story because the witnesses were creditable.

PS: BTW, I heard the crack about the suicide bombers; however, the difference between the suicide bombers & the Apostles is that the suicide bombers are not eye-witnesses to anything (they didn't meet Muhammad personally), and they are killing innocent people for their faith, not suffering for it.

You can't say that one god is a good god.

As long as you believe and let the goodness in your heart control your life, then whatever the highest power is will see that. If there was only 'one' to believe in, why would he make so many other religions. Just be a good person. So many people forget to do that these days. You can pretend to be a good christian, or muslim, or whatever, but if you are out there saying your religion is better than everyone elses or forcing it on other people, you are not truely faithful and are going against your faith. It is so sad that to this day so many people push their religion on you and still call themselves good people.

The most concise definition of God in Islam is given in the four verses of Chapter 112 of the Qur’an:
"Say: He is God, The One and Only. "God, the Eternal, Absolute.
"He begets not, nor is He begotten. And there is none like unto Him."
[Quran 112:1-4]

---------------------

as far as name is concerned, You can call Allah by any name, but it should be a beautiful name, it should not conjure up a mental picture, and should have qualities that only Allah possesses. For example, Most gracious, Most merciful.

"The most beautiful names belong to God: so call on Him by them;..." (7:180)
Allah! there is no god but He! To Him belong the Most Beautiful Names. (Qur'an 20:8)

The Glorious Qur’an says in chapter 17 verse 110

"Say: ‘Call upon Allah, or call upon Rahman: by whatever name ye call upon Him, (it is well): for to Him belong the Most Beautiful Names....‘"
[Al-Qur’an 17:110]

e.g. brahman, means creator. we muslims have no objection if someone call God as brahman, but we strongly reject any notion when hindus says that brahman has two eyes like humans, and four hands. etc etc.

hope this answers.

I'd have to speak for myself, I was brought up in church. If you know Yolanda Adams, Kirk Franklin, Walter Hawkins then the only God is the one in the King James version. The one that created man in his own image.

There are many gods and they are all held dear to the hearts of their followers. However, not ALL religions claim that their god is the one and only good god.

The Almighty God is the correct one. He is the one who gave up His son so we can have eternal life with Him in heaven, upon us accepting Him as our savior. The other gods are counterfit versions created by satan.

Read Psalms 83:18. Most people who claim to read the bible often look over this scripture.
