I think it depends on the airport. I've met some very nice TSA people and some that a more terse. Generally, the less busy the airport, the nicer the TSA people. At the busier airports, they have to screen a lot of people, many who give them a hard time. They are just trying to do their jobs. I would suggest just being nice to them.

I think like any other job.....people are people, there are rude ones in retail and nice ones. Sames applies for TSA employees. The best thing to do is kill them with kindness......they have done me some HUGE favors when I have been running late to a flight.
They have alot of responsibility.....
