Ok. There is a guy in a car in the middle of an empty field. He was reading his book when he suddenly was murdered. All the windows were rolled up and bulletproof, the doors were locked and indistructable. How did he get murdered?

Well it doesn't say whether or not the car was stationary, so he could've been driving while reading the book, without his seatbelt on ( always buckle up ), and hit something since empty fields rarely ever are, and always lead somewhere with some kind of obstacle. Thus, upon crashing, he slammed into the steering wheel collapsing his chest. All this due to his brake lines being cut by the nefarious murderer.

Of course there is always the possibility that he was dead when he was placed in the vehicle by the murderer and propped up with the book to subvert suspicion for a time.

The most obvious answer is that someone else was in the car with him. However, I choose to believe that he was sitting in a convertible with the top down, enjoying the sunshine, when he was assassinated by a sniper on a hill one half of a mile upwind of his little field. Only, because the man was not of much political importance, his death was labeled a murder instead of an assassination.

either the other person in the car killed him for some reason, or the book pages were laced with a poison, or he suffacated because the car was sealed so tight no air could get in.

The guy in the book was murdered not the guy in the car.

I think the book that he was reading was a how to kill yourself kind of book and he let th car running and the fumes leaked inside the car and he died painfully and silently because of the carbon dioxide, or the book that he was reading was a love story and e couldnt take being alone anymore that he killed himself. Or there was someone else in that car, but only wanted to rob him, but heard him crying over his love book and couldnt take it anymore and killed him to shut up!!! Please pick me!!!

Well, somebody killed him, otherwise you would have just said he died. So it couldn't have been car fumes. How about, he was a really, REALLY old, paranoid guy that read a really exciting part in it and he had a heart attack and died. That, or he was a former government agent, and enemies from oversees had booby trapped his book, or his car.

Someone was already in the car

or

The car was running and the fumes were going into the car, so he died slowly, while reading his book.
