i enlisted in the navy. what do you think my chances are of being a ship being attacked by terrorists anytime soon? or do you think they know not to mess with the us navy.

there is always the possibility. But take comfort in the fact that you are well protected by systems that can reach out and touch the bad guys from very far away if need be.

First, great for you that you enlisted in the Navy. My husband has been in for years and he loves it.
As far as an terrorist attack on ship, that has happened. Do you remember the USS Cole back in 2000 that was attacked in Yemen? That's one reason we should have started the war on terrorism nearly a year before September 11th happened.

the usa cannot secure Iraq
they are begginning to loose afganistan
they lost veitnam (therefore not calling it a war due to pride)
so yes, you can be attacked anywhere anytime by anyone.
You have no control and neither do they.
