Jesus was controversial. The prophets were controversial. I was told by a good friend that it is better to live in peace and not be controversial. I think there is a peace that is not peace. It is an agreement to "go along" even when you seriously don't agree for the sake of being a "part of the group." What do you think? When is peace not peace. I don't think it is real peace if I am not being authentic and others are not either.

Please use I statements when you respond as in ,what do you think ,not of me, not of my question, and not of my thoughts. In other words : start with I think...not I think you or I think your question. I haven't seen one good answer. This is an important question. Are there any philosophers or theologians out there?

You can't. Because people don't what to get along they what you agree with them and when you don't that is were the controversy comes in to play. So in order to 'get along' you'd have to agree with everyone. And if you don't stand up for what you believe then what is the point.
Would you agree with 'The Klan" just to get along? So you have to find where your beliefs begin and end for yourself not from the way others do.

Controversy was most definitely a part of Jesus and his life. You have to remember Jesus and his teachings where not on how to live in today's society and go along with popular beliefs of the rulers of earth. It was for the eternal salvation of your soul. When you have found peace in your spirit, then know you have accepted Jesus. It is not your mission on this earth to convince or persuade anyone what to believe. The joy from knowing and accepting Jesus as your savior is your only mission and you were given free will. The beauty of knowing on a spiritual level is that you want to share what you have found, but that is not always possible, because people make the choice for themselves.

I thing that there is a peace that isn't true peace. What I mean is it is worldly peace it is of the world. It is not peace with God In order to have peace with God you need to live for him and when you do wrong you need to repent and then you will have true peace but don't mistake that for never having tribulation in your life because rather you are a christian or not you will always have tribulation

Only true peace can come from God and sometimes it takes controversy. But never step outside the bounds of the Boble. It clearly tells you how to deal with this issue. And Pray.

There's a saying that mother's always say to their kids, 'if your friend told you to jump off the bridge, would you do it?'

In some cases, maybe it is good to just go with the flow, but in some situations, going with the flow is not always the right thing to do. If you see a group of kids, picking on another kid. Are you going to pick on that kid, to get out of being picked on yourself. Or will you stand up for that kid, the the one bullying him around?

I don't think Jesus would just stand back and watch that happen.

Jesus was a radical, along with several others at the time that were similarly radical. It is why he was killed. He upset the status quo of the religious powers and the Roman powers.

How can you move forward in your walk with the Lord if you have nothing to push you forward?

A boat on still waters is just a boat sitting still and going no where, but a boat on rough waters is constantly on the move.

because you are not even on the same playing field as Jesus. Jesus was the greatest celebrity of his time and they didn't have television or radio and everyone knew of him.
