I use to bite my nails......we are talking years and years....down to nothing. I went and bought some Sally Hansen nail strengthener and put that on all the time. Then when I wanted to bite my nails I would just pick at that instead. AND I let myself have 1 nail I could still bite when I really really wanted to. So after awhile, I had long pretty nails and one short funky one and finally left it alone. And it really wasnt as hard as I though and I dont miss it at all. Just takes time though.

I don't know how to make you stop, but I think I would find out why you are doing it. Are you stressed out, bored, nervous? I have been biting mine since I was 5 years old when my mother took away my pacifier, from what she tells me. Now, when I'm bored or nervous, I will be biting my nails and not even notice that I'm doing it until I've tasted blood. Gross huh? I think that I would try to find out why and then maybe you find the answer on how to stop it. I'm a girl, and I know getting the acrylic nails put on and keeping up with the touch ups and manicures on a regular basis, helps.

By the way, the nail biting polish doesn't work. Or didn't for me. I learned to get used to the taste, so it didn't stop me but became a challenge!

I recently quit biting my nails (and I'm 25). The secret to my success was fixing my nails every time that I wanted to bite them. I bought a bottle of clear nail polish, and when I found my fingers in my mouth, I would polish them. Now I just file them, if I find myself chewing. They are really long now, and I don't find myself biting them, since they are so pretty.

use a nail polish especially for this problem, they tatste bad, so when you go to put your figers in your mouth, it will sto because of the nasty taste. or , this is what helped me,go have your nails done, like really nice, when i had my nails done, i had loved how good they looked, and every time i wanted to bite my nails, i would always stop myself because i didn't want to ruin them. this prevented me from biting them for about 3 weeks, nearly a whole month, and now i don't even think i bout, its a nasty habit, that i had stoped. hope this helps!!

Something bad tasting is probably the most useful. It will remind you of what you are doing, when you go to chew your nails out of habit without even thinking about it. When you taste that flavor, stop and do something else.

Good luck!

Use the nail polish(or gloves) or have a friend tempt you with a spa or manicure day once you break the habit
