Very simple commands to be guided. Gods standards are very simple and logical to follow.

God's standards are not too difficult for all, they are impossible! God expects sinless perfection and nothing less. That is why Jesus came, to fulfill God's demand for perfection. One must understand , the sin nature is passed on by the man, for this reason Jesus was born of a virgin so He was not tainted with original sin. Besides this Jesus wasn't just a human being He was GOD, Yahweh in the flesh. In John 8:58, Jesus used the same statement that God used with Moses in the burning bush, EGO EIMI, I AM. That is why the Jewish leaders wanted to stone Him, He claimed to be equal with God. Paul expounded on this in Philippians 2:5-11, the great Christological passage. When it was time, Jesus went to the cross to be our sin bearer, because He was free of sin.( 1 Peter 2:22-25) When He said it was finished, all that had to done to satisfy God's holy wrath was accomplished, and the resurrection proved that conclusively, because if there was a sin not paid for by Jesus, He would still be dead today. Read Romans 5, Ephesians 2 for more information.

You mean GOD's Standards, as in the 10 Commandments?... or MAN's Standards as in Right-Wing Christians?

If you are talking about the Old Testament then it would be very difficult in one aspect but easier in another. You had sacrifices yearly for the things you did against God. If you are talking about the New Testament, it may be for some. Loving your enemy, turning the other cheek, having compassion, and no more sacrifice for you. Personally I feel the walk with the Lord is worth all of this and a lot more. It gives a peace of heart and mind. You know in whom your faith lies and strive daily to be Christ-like. Not giving insult for insult or pain for pain but keeping a peace in your mind that all is well with my soul. If the love of the Lord lives within what greater gift could one obtain.

God's standards aren't "hard" they're just and it says that "the wages of sin is death;but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord" Romans 6:23. No one can live up to what you might think is God's expectations, that's why Christ died on the cross for us. No one will be perfect, but while we are on this earth we are to be working towards sanctification, glorifying God, by doing His will and humbling ourselves, then when we true followers of God get to heaven, then we will be perfect in the eye of our Lord.

God's standards are not hard. Believing in God is hard.
In fact, it is impossible, after a certain level of education. So many people just don't understand that.
For you to understand my meaning, let me ask a counter question, and I mean this sincerely...
Do you think Santa Claus' standards are too hard for most?
(This is exactly how a non-believer views your question)

Yes. God's 'standards' are too hard for all.
To get into heaven, you have to be perfect. Man alone could not do it. So God made another way, thru Jesus, so that you don;t have to obey ever letter of the law. When we mess up, He made a way out.
Yes. God's standards are too hard. thats why he made forgiveness.

"God's standards" have all been set down by men who had an interest in being superior to others, and placed an impossible burden on the masses to keep them feeling sinful and worthless.
There is no reason to believe that the men who wrote the BIble had any clearer idea of God or what he wants than you do.

The LORD then gave these further instructions to Moses: 'Tell the people of Israel to keep my Sabbath day, for the Sabbath is a sign of the covenant between me and you forever. It helps you to remember that I am the LORD, who makes you holy. Yes, keep the Sabbath day, for it is holy. Anyone who desecrates it must die; anyone who works on that day will be cut off from the community. Work six days only, but the seventh day must be a day of total rest. I repeat: Because the LORD considers it a holy day, anyone who works on the Sabbath must be put to death.' (Exodus 31:12-15 NLT)
I don't believe god exists, but the character (if I may) is a sadist : )
