"Certainly all illegal immigrants who live in the country pay sales taxes whenever they purchase products. Some illegal immigrants (probably more than we know) acquire a SSN card either legally or illegally and have the same payroll state and federal taxes deducted from their paychecks. Note: Employers also pay employer taxes for each employee - hence a lower paying wage actually lowers the taxes employers pay as well.
But probably the most surprising intervention by the IRS to collect taxes from illegal immigrants is the ITIN (Individual Tax Identification Number) which are given to residents who do not need to prove their legal status. So these ID numbers allow IRS to collect taxes on illegal immigrants who work in the country while not giving ITIN users the same tax credits and benefits citizens and legal residents receive.
For those illegal immigrants who don't pay taxes, blame the employers who hire them.

The only people that really "belong" here Chris are the Native American Indians...you were just lucky that you were born here...maybe you should go back to where you belong...

We are a country of immigrants, our grandparents, great grand parents and other family members immigrated from somewhere else. I think "illegal" should be used for real crimes like rape, murder, corporate fraud. Destroying the environment should be illegal, our current health care system should be made illegal.

First, let me say that I truly believe that our country is what it is today because of immigration HOWEVER.... I believe that everyone should go through the proper channels to enter our country LEGALLY. People that come into our country illegally are starting off by disregarding our laws. They also do not pay taxes and can take advantage of healthcare and other governmental agencies that I PAY FOR. Enter legally and enjoy living in the USA.

I worked very hard to become a citizen. I learned English and took my citizenship test. I work hard and pay my taxes. Why should I feel anything but anamosity towards people who come here illegally and leech off the social services paid for by MY taxes?

America is not for everyone we cannot take everyone in the worlds problems on!! we are already in grave danger and heading for a depression. the middle class is becoming extinct and the poor and the rich are growing out of control. Illegals are one of the number one reasons behind this.

are we decided that illegal is the correct term? that would make them guilty of some crime, deserving of some sort of punishment. which i am all for. there is a legal process that some actually use. do they not deserve justice? it takes a long time to sit on the waiting list, they should all go through it. then they will value their new residence more.

But doesn't a country have a responsiblity to decide who can cross its borders and how they will contribute to their new communities? To know their education and work history? Their legal and medical history? Sorry, but U.S. citizenship is not a free for all.
