I know someone who started out taking 5 mg a day. It made them very jittery. They cut it down to half that (half a pill). It is stll effective without uncomfortable side effects. Going without it showed that even 2.5 does something. It has helped along with Depakote. This is for a mood disorder.

I am a social worker and i work mostly with women who suffer from mood disorders and many of my clients take abilify and have very few if any side affects. Abilify has become very popular b/c of the lack of side affects. Two of my clients reported feeling tired and trouble waking in the morning, but after a month they were fine.

wife takes 5mg. She has just started it she has less problems with her mood swings but does make her feel "odd" sometimes sleepy, overall it seems to do her well. She takes it with prozac which I cant stand. I think she needs off of the prozac altogether. good luck.
