I really don't think it's your place to tell him this. It sounds like you are telling him this out of spite because you are angry and that really isn't a good idea. I think maybe you are using this as a punishment for his bad behavior. Please don't do this. I am wondering how does his parents feel about what you are attempting to do? What does him being adopted have to do with his behavior? Does it really make any difference in regards to the situation that he was adopted rather than given birth into the family naturally? I don't think so. If this kid is causing problems, then by all means have a talk with him and express your dislike at his actions, but don't use this as an opportunity to create further drama. Let his parents decide when and how he is going to be told.

To me, the fact that he was adopted has nothing to do with it. He is now their son and it's their responsibility to discipline him. Yes, he needs to grow up and start acting responsible. However, finding out he was adopted, rather than helping him shape up, is only going to make him more insecure at this point. Maybe it would be helpful to try to understand the reasons he is acting up. I'm guessing there is probably more to this than just that he is doing stupid stuff for the fun of it. As someone who was labeled a problem child as a pre-teen, I know what I'm talking about. Good luck! I hope thing work out for the best with your family.
