Isn't that considered cruel and unusual punishment? Couldn't I argue that my human rights forbid any form of cruel or unusual punishment inflicted upon me?

Or is God so righteous and Just that basic human rights don't apply and he is free to torture anyone that he sees fit?

And isn't allowing somebody to be tortured for eternity the same as committing the torture yourself. Does it matter whether you are performing the act or simply willingly allowing the act to be performed?

It is evil to deliberately inflict pain and torture on anyone for even 1 second. Threatening people to get them to worship you or adore you is NOT loving!

First of all, human rights are a human-made and human-defined concept, and all humans can't even agree on what can and cannot be considered cruel and unusual. Secondly, God doesn't torture anyone. God is good, and good does not exist in the absence of God. God is also Holy, and while He did provide a way for people to become holy (by allowing other humans to violate His Son's basic human rights, you could argue), he will not share his holy place with unholy people who are such because of their choice. Hell isn't a place God created and then created in it ways to torture people for eternity. It is simply a place where God is not, and that removes from it human rights, comfort, relief, painlessness, etc. After what Christ went through to pave our way out of that, I am not sure a "violation of human rights" argument is in any way adequate.

There is the 2nd death. At the final judgment those who God condemns shell be thrown into the Lake of Fire.
Those that are thrown in die. Their ashes will rise and fall in the fire forever.

If you have a gas fire place and throw a log into it the log will burn up and be gone all that is left is ashes, continue burning the gas fire place for 20 years then find the ash from that log you burned.
Or
One that believes that after they die they fade to black, there right. Just not right away.

first off God has his own laws and does not have to obey MANS laws. just because the U.S. follows the Geneva Laws does it mean that the ARABS do not torture us as Americans? what you are saying is the man is more powerful than God and he is a human rights activist. God can punish whoever he wants how he wants

I think the viewpoint on this would probably be that God does not punish you, he merely does not allow you into Heaven. If you are dead, and you cannot go to Heaven, you must go to Hell. Satan's the big man in Hell, and he says what goes, therefore Satan is evil.

I'm just going on observations here as i'm not religious.

God would make all the war crimes look like Happy Days. God tortures you because he loves you.

Who are you to question the intent of God?

ok, so that's just your god. my God would never do such things. my God is cool, very laid back. mine generally wears baggies, t shirt and flipflops, and he got a shave and a haircut, says that whole long hair and beard look and the white robe is just so sixties.

i referred your question to my God and he said that there was a lot of talk down at the office about this guy; that he's had a hair up his butt for a long time. there was talk about taking up a collection to get him a hooker, he really needs to get laid.

God doesn't cast anyone in or torture anyone. People in hell like to practice their evil loves on each other.

FAQ: How could a loving God cast people into hell?

"And I have the keys of hell and death, signifies that He alone can save. By "keys" is signified the power of opening and shutting; here the power of opening hell, that man may be brought forth, and of shutting, lest, when he is brought forth, he should enter again. For man is born in evils of all kinds, thus in hell, for evils are hell; he is brought out of it by the Lord, to whom belongs the power of opening it. That by "having the keys of hell and death," is not meant the power of casting into hell, but the power of saving, is because it immediately follows after these words:

Behold, I am alive for ages of ages;

by which is signified that He alone is eternal life (n. 60); and the Lord never casts anyone into hell, but man casts himself. By "keys" is signified the power of opening and shutting, in Revelation also (3:7; 9:1; 20:1; also in Isa. 22:21, 22; in Matt. 16:19; and in Luke 11:52). The power of the Lord is not only over heaven, but also over hell; for hell is kept in order and connection by oppositions against heaven; for which reason, He who rules the one must necessarily rule the other; otherwise man could not be saved; to be saved is to be brought out of hell" (Apocalypse Revealed n. 62).

You can try writing to Amnesty International. They can take it to the courts, but knowing the one whom you are accusing, I doubt your chances would be good. You're better off trying to sue McDonald's.

Anyway, try to make the best of it. You're at least going to be in good company. Say 'hi' to RuPaul.
