My tongue hurts now from sucking on sour candy.
Is there a medical term for this...and what helps?

Ascorbic acid provides the "tart" taste. If you eat too much you overtax your saliva's ability to break it down thus turning it loose to eat at your tender mouth tissues. Fact.

It's called a sore tongue. I know exactly what you mean it happened to me a few days ago. I guess it happens from sucking too hard. Try ice.
