do you think winning a fight gains respect, makes you look like an asshole, or do you think violence doesn't solve anything.

It depends on your opponent. If a 17-year-old-boy beats up a 9-year-old kid, then he is definitely an asshole. And if he beats up a 73-year-old man he is an asshole. The only way not to be an asshole about fighting is to join a fight club and fight opponents who are evenly matched by size, weight, strength, and skill.

i think it all depends on where you are and what the fight is over. if some1 bumps into u at the mall or in a store and you turn around and punch the guy then yes u would be an asshole. but if it is something that is real personal and the other person wont quit it after you have asked them to stop then i think a good *** whooping is in order. when i was in 9th grade there was this kid that was pretty small for his age. so some of the other kids would pick on him for that. and it went on for a couple of weeks until the little kid couldnt take it anymore. little did the other kids know that his dad was a former marine and he taught his kid how to fight just like a marine. so the next time they started in on him he waited for them to push him and he ended up fu*king the other 2 kids up. after that not one person ever made fun of him or try to bully him ever again. also if the other person is overly aggresive and wants to fight than go at it and teach him that he aint sh*t so he will shut his mouth next time. and whoever said that violence doesnt solve anything was prolly a pu$$y.

Violence doesn't solve anything, you'll come out looking like an asshole. If you think a fight will gain you respect, you are looking for the wrong respect from the wrong people. :)

Depends on the situation. A bully winning a fight against a weak person is a coward. A person forced into a fight to save their own or someone elses life is a hero.

What was it about?

Who were the combatants?

What was at stake?

Depends on your age group and the world you live in. If the world you live in encourages and admires fighting, then winning in fight will give you respect. If the world you live in looks down on violence then it could detract people from respecting you.

From a girls perspective i dont really care if u win a fight. I would rather have a guy who could beat someone up for me, but just intimidates them enough and dosnet have to beat them up. Basically Be strong, intimidating, But Violence is a NADA

i like your question, but it seems that your choices r limiting. for starters why fight, unless your life is in danger, what is the point. too many times people get killed cause a "fight" went wrong. i guess i am one of those who say violence doesn't solve anything.

In general, I'd say violence should be a last resort. Fighting over trivialities always makes one seem boorish and petty. And no one likes a bully.

Yes.

It might gain you respect.
You'll probably look like an *** to the majority of ppl.
Will you solve anything? Probably not.
However, if nothing else it will make you feel better.
