You're parents are you're greatest assets. For whatever reason, there's animosity between your camp and theirs.

It serves your best interests to make peace and leverage what they can do for you.

Get with the program !!

one idea is to put all your programs or letters that you dont want you parents to read on a disc and take that disc with you, or hide it somewhere that your parents wouldn't think to look. If you need a little extra cash have a garage sale maybe. You could put some flyers around your area for a bottle drive, asking people to place any bottles outside one morning and take 'em in. See if you can start small like a flyer route or something to show your parents that you're more responsible than they are taking you for...how old are you? Maybe if you talked to your parents more, made them feel more in the loop on your life they wouldn't sneak behind your back, I understand that there are certain things parents shouldn't or dont want to know, but stuff you dont care so much about, let 'em have it. Most parents sneak around because they dont know what you are doing and wanna make sure that your not into drugs and sh!t. As soon as you get the chance though buy a laptop 'cause some things need to be kept private

What's so personal though? The ONLY thing you could be hiding is letters to an online bf/gf which is not healthy, as no-one is who they say they are on here. Or of course, internet porn. There is a way on windows xp where you can set up your own profile by going to start > control panel > users. You should be able to set up your own username and password and it'll also give you the option to make your files private. I'm sure previous versions of windows do it as well.

since you cant go out and get a job work for your parents. mow the lawn paint the house do odd jobs and when your parents ask you to do something as them how much and negotiate a price it maybe a slow run for a computer but anything is better than nothing also for your secret files on your computer just save them on a disk or jump drive there only like $20 and can save lots of information and you can hold that around your neck if you want it cant get anymore private than that

Talk to your parents about the need for personal space. If you don't own your own computer, you can write the old fashioned way, in a notebook, or a journal. Maybe if you are more open with your parents, they won't feel the need to snoop through your personal writing. Communication is the key!

You could always set up a new username for yourself on your computer and set up a password so that you have to log in each time with your password. At least saving your files or stuff on that, assuming that you log off each time, your parents shouldn't be able to get to it.

Put your files on a disc. You can get a usb drive for 20 bucks.

If you are of age to work you do not need your parents permission. I worked since I was 15.

When you are an adult with a job living in your own place, you can have privacy.

Until then you are a child and the responsibility of your parents and they have a right to know what's going on in your life, since they are responsible for you.

get a memory stick for your computer. They are relatively cheap and all you can take all your files where every you go and as for security - well you take your stick out of the computer and keep it with you and no one will ever see your files. That's the best kind of security
