Do you truly feel that our Savior wants this dissension and arguing going on between us? The Jesus I believe in did not preach this. Why can we not learn to respect each other and agree to disagree on many minor points?

Respect does not imply believing the same. I am a Catholic and I may not believe as a Muslim does but I respect their right to believe and worship as they choose.

I agree with you, because even if you respect each other not matter what they're always could be a fight. For an example; If let's say you know this person who you really don't like and you respect her but you don't respect her beliefs. And she starts arguing that her Religion is superior than what Religion you are. But if you guys respected each other's belief then would this be happening? If you really think about it you're wasting time. -_- Well, I don't ever think we will have World Peace unless a God comes back to Earth in his/her (I believe in the Godess) real form. Then all the fighting would stop. Atleast, I think it would. After reading some of the questions I do agree to the person who said 'God is our peace' . Well that's true but some people are arguing with us that 'God isn't real' and junk like that. And if people are disturbing us and keep on saying 'God isn't real' we don't really have peace do we? There can be peace only when everyone has matured enough to believe in God and respect everyone's Religion. Well that was pretty much I wanted to say so bye! And good luck finding the answer to your question.

I will respect everyone's right to their beliefs even if I don't receive it back. I was raised to show respect for others, and others opinions even when they don't agree with my own. The only way to lose my respect is to intentionally hurt me very personally and deeply and nothing on this board could do that.

Disagreement is not a bad thing. New thoughts, new ideas would not come about if everyone agreed on every little thing. Disagreement when done with tolerance and respect is a healthy thing.

That's Christianity's problem. When I see laws being suggested that are de facto tenets of other religions (Christians do this constantly) then I'll worry about all holding hands and respecting each other. Christians need to clean up their act and stop using social mechanisms and government to advance their religious ideology as law and putting non-believers/other believers at a social disadvantage.

We cannot be expected to respect beliefs we find ridiculous , wrong or sometimes disgusting. The only way we can live together in harmony is to keep our beliefs to ourselves and in our places of worship and other private places like home,

Secularism is the best way forward, yes it means we don't have displays of religious imagery in public places and no religion gets special favouritism from the state..but everybody is entitled to believe as they wish so long as they do not encroach on other people or try to impose their religious beliefs on others.

Government policy should not be based on religious belief...whose belief would it be based on if it were? yours? mine?... the other fellows down the road?

There will not be peace until justice takes place. No our Savior doesnt pleasure in this enmity, but it is neccessary. We are to be the salt of the earth. Ever had salt in a wound? The truth of God is offensive to those who do not believe, if there is no reaction to the Gospel then it is not being preached.

As spamandham said, I cannot respect other's beliefs because they are wrong and most of them will lead people to hell. It is precisely because I respect other people that I try help convert them. We are human and we are fallen. There will never be any true peace on this earth until the end.

Thank you for this. I am not of your faith but I respect your right to your beliefs. Thank you for respecting mine. Now, if we can just get others to agree to this concept, most wars would never be fought and people could live side by side in peace. Good luck with your end and wish me good luck with mine.

So long as anyone wants to initiate force against another for any reason there will not be peace. This includes forcing someone to give up their hard earned money (taxes), forcing someone to not put certain things in their bodies (drug laws), forcing someone to live by the ways of your religion, etc.

God is our peace.

This doesn't mean that we go around looking for fights. But Jesus did say that we would be persecuted, didn't he?

And Jesus knew that some words bring life to some, and death to others, right?

He also said that the World hates us.

So why look to others for peace? Look to God for peace. He is our peace.

I don't know of anyone who expects to live in peace. Some people will simply always suck. But I respect that.
