Wonderful life." By saving his brother's life he saved all the men on that ship that his brother was on. I am a teacher and I always wonder what impact I have on those I teach. My wife is a bank manager and I am sure the decisions he makes profoundly affects the lives of others.

I am sure that in no way have I affected people in such a positive way as George Bailey. But after two decades of teaching I'm thinking that surely I've affected a life or two. If my bad puns don't kill them first that is. *wink* There is one boy that I know I had a great impact on. I actually taught him four years in a row. I guess I was as close to him as I've ever been to a child without him being my own son. He's in college now and I pray to see him on Broadway someday or featured in films. Perhaps if he goes on to affect other's lives with his talent I can say, "I knew him when...." *shrugs* I just don't think even something like that I can take credit for. I have never saved another's life.......I've never talked someone off of a ledge......I've never made the extreme sacrifice of my life for theirs. I've merely passed on my knowledge to others and kept my fingers crossed that some of it sank in. I suppose only time will tell. When my mother passed, being a teacher, people came out of the woodwork to attend her funeral. I have never seen so many people in my life. It was then that I realized what an impact she had had on so many people. I know she would have been surprised herself. I so pray she got to witness that from above. But I guess until our demise, we never really know. *shrugs*

Great question......makes one truly think!

I have had several friends tell me that the actions and words I have spoken in truth and love have had significant meaning in their lives. If we are willing to take the time to love each other and be helpful in our encounters with human kind we will reap the blessings in many ways. Not the least of which is a friend sharing their most innermost thoughts with us. One person said that if I had not "been there" for them they might not be here today. I cannot, however take full credit, for it was God who led me to share and care enough to "be there." God put each of us in the path of another...who can we help or just listen to today?

I have changed some people's life totally through Internet. It led them to have a shinier life, and feel closer to God, full of love and light :)
