Not at the same time.
The truly insidious thing about driving while under the influence, is that alcohol dulls your perceptions. You think you are in great shape mentally and physically. You think you have incredibly fast responses. You think you are super aware of things around you.
You aren't.
But it is this misperception that gets people killed.
The statistics on impaired driving are horrendous. It kills more people than any other single cause, and yet it is the one killer that can be completely wiped out, if people would only realize that they can not drive while they are under the influence of alcohol.
The laughable penalties imposed on drunk drivers only acerbate the problem. Kill someone with a car and you might get a fine and your license lifted for a year. That's criminal!

I saw an insurance survey not too long ago which said that many people who were drunk drove better than someone using a cell phone. Now, everyone knows that you should not drive after drinking but how many people drive while talking on a cell phone?

Ask me that again next time I'm at my brothers grave.... He was 6 and didn't even know what drinking and driving is. My Sister has been in a wheel chair since the accident in 1979, and she will never be the same emotionally.
The offender? stitches on his left ear.... 10 months state jail.

I have not had any problem for 25 years, but only I do not go above the legal limit.
You have to drink and eat at the same time and not drink to get loaded and wait if you have a little bit of a buzz.
