I know everyone is different, but I was wondering how your recovery went...c-section or not. How did you feel..physically and mentally and how long did it take for you to feel "normal" again?

LMAO! I never thought of the wiggly uterus thing, but that makes perfect sense! Geesh...don't these babies just send our bodies into a tailspin?! Good thing they're so worth it :-)

The first weeks were really rough for me. I was bruised, swollen, and tired. Sooooo tired. I had a vaginal delivary, and the doctors told me after, that my hips were so small I should have had a c-section and they were just waiting for me to give up. So that entire area was beat up. My stomach suprisingly went down pretty quick, My hips were a little wider, but my stomach flattened out fairly quickly. I was actually in 2 jean sizes smaller after delivery than before I was ever pregnant. Emotionally, I was overprotective. No one helped me at all, not by their choice but by mine. I had a really hard time seperating from him. The idea of him not being 100 percent dependent on me. I hated the idea of someone else being able to take care of him as good as I could. And although that has calmed down a whole lot, I still have it. I still feel like no one can do it as good as I can, and that I would rather do whatever it is that needs done with him rather than let someone else do it. My son is now 3, but it took a good year for me to calm down about it. That was the only emotional change I had. Physically I felt normal probably 8 to 9 weeks after delivery.

I had my baby 3 weeks ago.. my body still feels not quite normal lol here's somethings that are different

my back felt wierd - like i had to learn to stand differently again, cuz my posture changed for while i was pregnant, so it gets sore in wierd places now

my hips are wider so my jeans fit differently, and there was some wierd seperation that clicked when I walked for a while and that finally went away

I had an episiotomy so that is still kinda sore and healing, adn my whole perinieal area is jsut sore and bruised feeling in general

I have incontinence problems still.. so I am doing like a million kegals a day lol

ummmmmmm I get sweaty all the time for no reason cuz my body is flushing out fluids

My breasts are definitely bigger which is nice :) but they got relaly engorged the first time they filled up with milk and that hurt really bad!

I dont' have any stretch marks and I already lost all the baby weight minus a couple pounds maybe... but that is nowhere near the norm for anyone, and shouldn't even be expected, I dont' know how it happened so fast - i didn't even try!

AND my hubby and I had sex already (I know you're sposed to wait like 4- 6 weeks technically...) and it felt soo good it didn't even hurt :)

emotionally I'm doing great I think for the most part, jsut a little tired from only sleeping in 3 hour bits. :)

I had a c-section on June 20th. I was up and walking that night and completely off all medications the next day. I've had very little pain, just some spasming of the uterus which I know is completely normal. I do know when I've done a little too much as I still get a slight pulling sensation at the incisional site but other than that, I feel GREAT! I could do with a little more sleep tho'!!

Physically, I felt as though I had been hit by a semi truck, every muscle in my body ached from all the pushing, and emotionally I was a basket case. I cried a lot for the first week. But, gradually I started getting back to normal. You will too, it just takes time. I have often heard that a woman is really "pregnant" 12 months, because it takes another 3 to get your hormones back in order. Just don't forget to take care of yourself as well as baby. Your baby needs a healthy mommy...physically and emotionally.

C-sec. Physically - sore, but bearable w/pain meds. It took 6 weeks before I was not sore anymore. But only 2 weeks before I didnt need pain meds. Depending on how much weight you gained you will probably feel really fat. Your belly feels all out of whack. Your uterus is still large so it wiggles all over the place! Eww right? Emotionally, I cant answer for everyone but I was a mess!! I was so happy, but I cried a lot because I was so scared of being a mom. It wore off after I stopped the pain med. (I think it made me paranoid)

it takes anywhere from 6 months to a year to recover from childbirh. Take it easy because your organs have to go back into place and you don't want to strain your muscles.
