I hope you are not mentioning this when the person is in the room.

Since this question is in the etiquette category, I want to point out that etiquette dictates that no one say anything. Flatulence is assumed to be something you are not in control of. Saying anything calls attention to something that everyone in the room is pointedly pretending never happened, and is rude.

It's different from a burp, which you are assumed to be in control of, and warrants an "Excuse me."

I don't make the rules, I just know about them!
