I'm writing a essay for assesment for uni regarding the above subject. However i have searched the net for evidence for disscusing the death of the sick child between child, parent and nurse with no success. I am trying to find medical facts and figures which support or go against the argument "My child is dying, and i wont have her/him told".

Hello. I have a little experience with this. My 7 year old son just pasted away in July from cancer. I found a book at thrift store written by Elisabeth Kubler-Ross , author of "On death and dying". My book is named On Children And Death. My son's mother and i never talked to him about the possible outcome but i strongly feel he knew like many children with a illness. To tell him would feel like to me i was accepting he was going to die. The back of the book states "this book is worthwhile reading for the general public, particularly those entrusted with the care of dying children".She has 7 books on death and the dying. Hope this helps your question.

Try your local Hospice. They specialize in taking care of the terminally ill . A member of a church may also have some insight on the subject as well.

You may want to read up on the writings of Doreen Virtue. She is a doctor of psychology. Her website is:
AngelTherapy.com.
You will most likely find links to your subject there too.
Good luck!
