You feel shy because of your thinking - your perception.

To come out of the problem:
Here is what I suggest (because that's how I overcame my shyness):

1. You need to change your thinking. Think of them as harmless. Face your fears. If they laugh at you, laugh at them back. You have all the right to do the same.
2. Try to bring a friend you trust with you. It will help alot.
3. Pray. By far, I guess this is the strongest tool to solve anything in my life. Try it. You never know what it can do. :)

All the best!

u are naturally a shy person. If you dont want to be just think in your mind u can do it. Dont just sit their and be quiet talk to people and smile. Are u really very shy? It could be hyperlexia or a social problem but if ur not really that shy and u can talk a little and u dont feel nervous then its not.Dont have low self-esteem thats what makes people think they cant not be shy.

Sounds like Social Anxiety Disorder. Alot of people have it and it's easily treatable if you talk to your physician. If you don't want to take meds it's simply a matter of exposure and conditioning. Figure out something that helps you stay calm in social situations and focus on that and it will become easier as time goes by.
