well, don't worry...just keep what u are doing, which is reading up and studying on ALL types of questions and answers regarding religion, or non-religion.... there's nothing wrong w/ having questions about what u've been taught to believe, etc. just make sure u do all u can to *learn*, and then u will be able to make an informed decision. i grew up in christian churches all my life, and fell away when i went to college cuz i was confused, didn't know if i really truly believed what i was taught there...esp because i didn't feel that the ones that were supposed *good* Christians were really that great. =T... but as i got older, i went back and found my way..and now i feel that i've learned so much in the past few weeks about Christianity than i ever have in the past 26 years!!! and i feel so much love and hope that i've never had before, and that faith is amazing..it's what everyone *talks* about but i've never known until now. don't worry, things will happen for u. it takes time and work, make sure u take and learn what u can, and be positive no matter what u end up accepting. do not judge others, and do not let it bother you when they judge you... no one is right or wrong enough to tell YOU what to do. be respectful of what others believe, and they will respect you.

Don't worry. You take from religion what makes sense to you. I'm from a non practising Christian family and the Bible doesn't make sense to me. I mean really, you can prove dinosaurs and all that but where are they in the Bible. Also Geological time accounts for way more than the Bible does. Haven't read the Quran but I'm sure it's the same as all other organized religion. As long as you lead a good life and do unto others as you would have them do unto you then you are all good. You don't need some ancient propaganda to know what is right. But for all those that religion works for then good on you. As long as we are all being kind to ourselves and each other then who cares what you believe. You are not crazy.

There is always more to know and find out about life, both the material universe and the spiritual universe.
Nothing can "brain wash" you as long as you remain aware and are able to look and find out for yourself.
To say that everything is a complete load of crap would be a very big generality.
It would be more true to say that there is a huge sea of "data" out there. The trick is to know how to sort the truth from the false.
What is true, is what it true for you, and then it is only true according to your experience and observation of it.
If you apply this you will have no fear of ever being "brainwashed".
Hope this helps.

Why should you believe some website more than your religious text? Search your heart and pray. Read your text, ask God what it means. Ask him to lead you in the right direction. Evolution is just a theory, it is being taught as fact, but there is no irrefutable evidence. Besides, evolution is not a faith. It does not help you spiritually.
I am Christian, but I believe that you and I are talking about the same God (Allah) =) and our religions just disagree on some details about what his plan is for us. I believe if you pray, you will get your answers. You are not going crazy, there are a lot of influences in this world that will mislead you and are meant to confuse you, but in your heart you will find God. He will lead you in the right direction.
God (Allah) bless.

Don't go crazy. There is nothing incompatible with believing in God and evolution. After all there is still SO much about evolution that is unexplained and truly miraculous. As many modern Christians consider the creation story in the bible to be a parable not meant to be taken literally, there must be Muslims out there who follow the same line of thought about the Quaran, I would think.

Bro, that feeling happens to people from every religion- the feeling of being brainwashed.
But the fact of the matter is that religion does fulfill a need deep inside most human beings. Thats what it is for. Knowing that, would you still accept the teachings of the religion that you belong to? Because inspite of everything else, its nice to belong isnt it? And i am sure your religion has a lot of good teachings too. Besides, 1 month of Ramzan sure must help improve your discipline!
Find out for yourself what you want to believe, but the most important thing is to discover on your own. Dont believe someone just "because". Find out and see what religion has to offer you and take it if the pros are more than the cons. But learn nonetheless. Because you dont want to be left out either right!

i don't think you should believe anything just coz, you should believe something because you know it to be true. if you want to believe that you were once a worm that burrowed in the soil and then became half worm half bird until you became a human, then go for it. i myself am a christian and i believe that the world was created in 6 days as it says in genesis, i believe that man walked with God in the garden of eden and everything else He created, for example dinosaurs. man disobeyed God and sin came into the world and ever since we have needed to be saved and we still do. that is why Jesus died. i believe that man was created in the image of God. so before you make any random descisions search low, search high, search wide, if you do you will find the truth. i'll start you off with a clue. Gods word, the bible.

It can be so hard to question such a deep seeded belief. I personally feel as though god is too big for one religion. You are right that evolution makes a lot of sense. But, evolution lacks what religions have to offer and that is the sense of inter-connectedness. Some people need to feel connected to others, to the earth, and they are able to feel that through their belief in "god". I personally was raised Christian, grew and found it increasingly difficult to have faith, and found Buddhism. Good luck to you, where ever your path may lead you.

A lot of people feel this way when they "discover" the theory of evolution. Just think long and hard about what makes more sense to you and what you really feel. Remember, nothing is proven solid so you're not right or wrong whatever you go with!

first off, calm down. second, where are you from.
In America they teach us the theory of evolution in elementary school. it goes totally against what is then taught in church. listen to both and then make up your mind. i don't know anything about the Quran but I know the bible is supposed to be taking figuratively and not literally. problems arise when people take it literally. i like to believe that the bible is a story of evolution wrapped in such a way that people who were not scientists when it was written could understand it. i don't know if that makes sense or not, but well there you have it...
