I personally believe in the judgement, Heaven and Hell, but if you don't, what do you think happens when you die?

Jerry H, i guess that degree i have in biblical studies didn't show me that, thanks, lol. You and i know you jsut heard that someplace and now are recycling it as intellectual. The Bible speaks volumes about the afterlife.

hey hun....being a fellow christian i am glad to say i know exactly were i will be goin' and am grateful of it....i have often wondered this same question although i don't think they spend much time pondering this question cause if they did i believe it would bring some sort of worry or concern to there attention.....please pray for em'...i know i will ...i would also like to add that if they would spend more time thinkig with their heart instead of there mind then they would open their eyes...christians know that believing takes more then the mind to uderstand.. it takes your heart will and soul....love daisy

I don't believe in the afterlife at all-no Heaven, no hell-until Jesus comes. When you die, you simply go to sleep. And I dont understand why so many people don't get this considering there are verses upon verses explaining it.
In the New Testament Jesus taught death as a sleep-Matt 9:24, Mark 5:34, John 11:11-14; as well as both peter and paul called death a sleep-1 cor 15:51,52, 1 thess 4:13-17, 2 peter3:4
"For the living know that they will die; but the dead know nthing, and they have no more reward, for the memory of them is forgotten. Also their love, their hatred, adn their envy have now perished; nevermore will they have a share in anything under the sun." Ecc 9:5,6.
"Whatever your hand find to do, do it with your might; for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom int he grave where you are going" Ecc 9:10
"The dead do not praise the Lord, nr any who go down into silence" Ps 115:17
"Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves wll hear His voice and ocme forth-those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation." John 5:28, 29

Each individual holds a different belief of what happens after death - even those who religious.
You may see heaven as a beach community with clouds and angels and your family.
Your brother may see it as a big house with his friends in each room and a game cube with every game ever made.
Your sister may believe in re-incarnation.
Your mailman may believe that when the neurons stop firing, all that is left is an empty vessel that then rots and begins the food chain over.
Your grade school teacher may not believe in a god, but believes that her soul & conscienceness ends up someplace good.
Nothing *has* to happen after death, but religions and their texts give people hope that something does. That our lives aren't so simple. Unfortunately, it also gives people an excuse to live without responsibility. Some people believe that their actions (more like inactions) in life are meaningless because they will live eternally in heaven the earth and it's people will no longer affect them.

if you truely believe in God you would know that the Bible says that nothing happens after death. The dead know nothing, and have no knowledge. The breath of life that gave you life, goes back to God.
If you believe in the afterlife, you belive in an ancient Catholic belief. and is the absolute opposite of what the Bible says.

the miss conception about atheist is that they all believe nothing happens, this is not so, atheist simply means belief/faith that their is no god, some take it a step further and say their is as well no soul.
their are on the other hand atheist religions, buddhism is one, no belief in a god but a belief in a soul, if i remember correctly this goes as well with taoism and scientology.

I don't know what happens since no one has ever come forward with any evidence of an afterlife.
anyone who believes in any religion that includes an afterlife doesn't know either, they just have faith it exists.

Some atheists say "what if you are wrong?". I like to say, "what if I'm right?".
