well that depends on a few things, mostly how strict of a muslim are you, and what country do you live in, first if you (or your husband) are strict muslims then you definetly need permision, and sometimes in stricter muslim families/countries you a muslim wife is not alowed to work at all. second if you live in a muslim country you need your husbands permision and again depending on how strict your country is you might not be able to work at all. as you are asking this question im assuming that your country allows females to work, but you should still get your husbands permision, if he doesnt want you to work then you should find a hobby that is acceptable to him.

no she can't, she has to have many children and care for them IN THE HOUSE, she can't show her face to any other man.

above sounds a little extreme right? sorry, but if you're muslim from a traditional background and if your marriage was arranged you will have to deal with many people's close mindess, including your own family and your in-laws. make sure you talk things through so there won't be a misunderstanding that condems you in any way.

tough questions. why would someone be hiding something like this from your husband. i suspect you feel he would not give permission.
consider volunteering if you don't need the money. talk to your husband about your needs.
