Because every emotion is felt at the nth degree. This is why being on the right medication is very helpful, to keep the manic and depressive states at an even keel. In addition, a lot of people have a hard time moving on; it's in their make-up, but having this disorder can make it a lot worse if not treated. I hope this helped

My emotions become amplified greatly, and I think it's a bit of codependence as well. It took me 2 1/2 years to get over one girl, but most of that was simply driven by the illness itself and the incredible mind games she played on me. I've come to accept that it just takes time and distance to heal. I am on better meds now and that helps control the emotional attachment to a great degree making it much easier to let go as I have in recent times.

Everybody has problems letting go and moving on. Emotions for people with bipolar disorder are just more.

Maybe they don't want to let go. I know a guy with bipolar, he dated a a girl for three years, they broke up, made up, and cheated in between. Finally, to solidify their union, they had a baby. He got shot 8 months later, and she left him. It took him three years to let go of her, but he was always in favor of being in love. He loved the feeling and the idea, no matter who he dated, and he didn't want to let go of that, the girl, he could've cared less about.

Breaking up is just hard to do any way. Try to focus on the future.
