I go to the dentist twice year, brush after every meal and floss once a day. For about 4-5 years after I left home, I only brushed 2 times a day. I had bleeding gums, several cavities and my teeth always seemed to hurt. I went to the dentist and got it all fixed (A scaling and de planing and filling 4 cavities solved all the problems but was costly). Now I follow all their directions and have had no other problems.

You should do both! Have your teeth cleaned by a dental hygentist and an examination from a dentist every 6 months if you can! You should also brush and floss your teeth every day. Twice a day is best!

Both. There is a proper way of brushing that I could post but it would be easier just to share this web page.
