No wear what you want . Not many are virgins when they marry these days anyway. Depends on your Religion and if you really are a virgin too. Wear what you want, have fun and live a rich healthy fun life. Good Luck to you !

The tradition that a white dress signified purity or virginity only developed during the Victorian era (mid-to-late 1800s). Queen Victoria was married in a white dress and everyone who wanted to be considered "fashionable" had to wear white at their wedding after that. Until then, blue was the color you wore to signify your purity or virginity. A white dress only signified a belief that the marriage was going to be eternal. Today, either of these deeper meanings have been overshadowed by bridal fashion, which says all dresses should be white.

Not at all. I'm getting married in November and I have every intention of wearing a white dress, even though I have had lots of sex before.

Four years ago I became a fully practicing Catholic, and one of the first things I did at that time was to go to confession for the first time in many years.

During that time I 'fessed up to a lot of stuff, including all the sex that I'd been having prior to that.

Once the priest absolved me in God's name and I did my penance, the slate was wiped clean. A brand new start. I cried so hard because it was the most spiritually exhilirating experience I've ever had.

When the priest made the sign of the cross and told me, "Your sins are forgiven, go in peace," something came over me that I can't describe. It was at that time that I fully realized that God was real.

It was at that time that I realized that I didn't BELIEVE that God existed. I KNEW that He did!

So, no, wearing a white wedding dress even after having had premarital sex is not hypocrisy -- not if the great gift of God's mercy and forgiveness is obtained.

Of course it's not hypocritical to wear a white wedding dress if you're not a virgin. It's a matter of tradition. In China white is the color of mourning.

Fornication is a sin for men too, according to biblical laws, so grooms should be virgins too. Society seems to forget that minor detail.

In a certain way, it is. Because the white color means purity, virginity, which you have reserved for your husband and anyone else.

So originally, it was the purpose of the wedding dress. Sex is for marriage: it was design for marriage and it will work the best for marriage. Many undesired children, broken relationships, and AIDS, many other bad things could be avoided if we follow the original design.

I don't believe a good number of people even think that the wedding dresses color is significant. The majority of dresses are white. All media always shows a bride with white dress that is why it is the style. You are way to high strung with hypocrisy comment chill out a little.

The white dress is a symbol for virginity, yes. But many women, even on their second marriage, wear white. However, the trend is going towards colored dresses. If you feel uncomfortable wearing white, go for a cream, pale yellow etc. Luckily, at this day and age, anything goes!

It's tradition. And really, not up to you to tell other people what to wear at their own weddings. Personally, I don't plan to wear an entirely white dress at my wedding, but that's just because I think white is boring. Oh, and I've also had pre-marital sex. :p

Thanks to the society we live in, white is no longer reserved for virgin brides. There are even women on their second, third even fourth marriages that have opted to wear white!
