10.5 isn't too bad for a hospitalized patient - but for a young growing teenager - it could be a problem. Especially if you want to be active and participate in sports and have fun with friends. It isn't much fun to be wiped out and short of breath and wasting your time lying around. There are a lot of vitamin supplements with iron that can boost your iron level. My daughter has been a vegetarian since she was 8 years old and whenever she gets dark circles under her eyes I get her Femiron tablets and they do the trick - at least for her. They work so well that her iron is high enough for her to donate blood.

It definitely falls into the Anemic category. Take your doctor's reccommendation, usually they prescribe iron supplementation.
